Bio
Eleana Zhako is a translator from Albanian into Greek with a degree in European and International Studies at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens, as well as in Albanian Language and Literature at the Faculty of History and Philology, University of Tirana. She also specializes in Environmental and Energy Law from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium as well as Theater Pedagogy from the Open University of Cyprus.
Among her translated works are ‘Interventions of Mr. Shyti‘, Ardian Vehbiu, (Plethora, 2018), ‘Flight over the National Theater of Kosovo‘, Jeton Neziraj, (Plethora, 2019), ‘I remember‘ , Ylli Demneri, (Plethora, 2020), ‘Ancient Albanian stories‘, Mitrush Kuteli, (Ministry of Diaspora, 2021), ‘The sworn virgin‘, Elvira Dones, (translated for the Athens Cultural Festival, July 2017).
Residency goals
During her residency stay at at Poeteka in Tirana (Albania), Eleana will be working on the translation of a contemporary Albanian essay book into Greek.
