Literary translator from Serbian into German in residency at Krokodil in Belgrade, Serbia
Bio
Maša Dabić was born in 1981 in Sarajevo and translates literature from the Balkans. She graduated in translation studies (English and Russian). She lives in Vienna and deals with the phenomenon of migration as a journalist (daStandard.at), works as an interpreter in asylum and conference zones and teaches at the universities of Innsbruck and Vienna. With her debut novel ‘Gubici trenjem’, she was shortlisted for the 2017 Austrian Book Award, and a year later she received the City of Vienna Award for the Promotion of Literature.
Residency goals
During her residency stay at Krokodil in Belgrade (Serbia), Maša will be working on the translation of Bojan Savić Ostojić: ‘Ništa nije ničije’, Kontrast, 2020 (‘Nothing is nobody’s’) into German.
