Literary translator from Serbian into Italian in residency at Krokodil in Belgrade, Serbia
Bio
Valentina Marconi is an award-winning literary translator working with Italian, English and BCMS. She has translated several novels and popular science books from English and BCMS into Italian and received two awards for the translation of children’s books. She also translates for the stage and is a part of a collective of theatre translators. Collaboration and multidisciplinarity occupy a prominent space in Valentina’s translation practice. She loves taking part in projects bringing translation to the public stage and facilitates translation workshops for primary school children. Alongside her job as a translator, she is also a scientist currently working towards a PhD at the Zoological Society of London.
Residency goals
During her residency stay at Krokodil in Belgrade (Serbia), Valentina will be working on the translation of Dejan Atanacković’s novel ‘Luzitanija’ into Italian.
